BW Survival - lesson 0
A/N: No, I’m not starting a new comic before finishing DxP REWRITE. This is more of an art therapy outlet about survival & finding hope where there is none, based on the “Ghetsis wins” timeline, & lessons I’d learned.
*Updates whenever the mood hits, like the Hero of Bombs AU’s.
Over 20 years ago, this Ansy lost against N & Zekrom. Reshiram escaped with her & her Pokémon. N was crowned King of Unova with Ghetsis ruling in his shadow, & most people had to surrender their Pokémon to Team Plasma. Then, when Ghetsis stole Kyurem from their icy cave, a seemingly endless winter fell over the region…
Unova became very locked down from their neighbors, & Pokémon in the wild made themselves scarce. Yet life continued - the people found a new sort of normalcy, as they do. A resistance made up of the strongest trainers organized in secret underground, as they tried to restore the natural & human order.
Many thought Reshiram’s trainer was killed all those years ago. She was only a child after all. But she survived, & will keep surviving.
Lesson 0: survival is resistance. 🌧️🌱

Tumblr ate my on post reply so anon ask. Even though Muse has more direct resistance themed music; for the Survival Au I feel like Big Freeze would be a great choice for the playlist.
An interesting choice - after listening for a minute, I don’t think it quite matches the mood. ^^;
I actually already had a playlist in mind for a while (since Survival AU is based on one of my storyline ideas for the story after DxP REWRITE following whatever happens in the eventual BW remake / sequel) - it’s the soundtrack by one of my favorite artists, Akiko Shikata, from an obscure virtual novel “花帰葬 Hanakisou (Funeral Flowers)”. Never played it, though I really loved the manga.
Tumblr media
(title screen - at a glance you can see why it’s the first thing I thought of for this AU)
There’s tons of BW symbolism as well - the main characters are the Savior Hanashiro (“white flower”) & the one who’s said to destroy the world, Kuroto (“black mystery”). They are guarded by Shirofukurou (“white owl”) & Kurotaka (“black hawk”) respectively, trying to find a way to save the world from endless winter without Kuroto having to die. Duality, winter & spring, despair & hope, the idea of what a “savior” is & what it is to “be saved”, etc. Goes deep into that stuff, like this AU does.
I was planning on sharing some tracks on some posts, mostly from the orchestra version, but here’s a sample from the PSP soundtrack: a violin version of the main theme (sorry if it cuts out in the end there - this was the best I could find lol) ❄️
